This piece is a portrait of a coyote I saw sitting in my backyard. I wanted to represent my home, my backyard, through its interconnection with the natural world. I tried to play with my view of the coyote in my backyard versus its view of me in its backyard. It’s sitting in its lush forest-esque nook, but it's also sitting in my backyard. It isn’t looking at me, but the viewer, me, is looking at it, and by extension the viewer of the piece.
